Home Depot, Facebook & Others Fail Employees Drastically different, but eerily similar at the same time. Both companies dominate their respective sectors, but both seem to give minimal weight to their 401K plans as a piece of employee retention. In a recent ranking Facebook came in last and Home Depot was not far from the bottom in regards to how generously companies contribute to employees' 401k plans. Dominance is great, but companies shouldn't forget about those who helped get them to get to the top. Read More

We Thought The Target Breach Was Bad… Ha! New Target CEO, Brian Cornell, has to be jumping in joy… very selfishly, though. The security breach on his company is old news after this week's report that 1.2 billion (with a B) username and password combinations have been stolen from large and small websites. The icing on the cake was the 500 million email addresses that were also stolen. The act was carried out by a Russian gang. Putin must still be upset about US hockey beating Russia, or maybe it's the sanctions. Either way change your passwords… now! Read More

AOL is dialing up profits Remember this image when logging into the internet:

aol Does that seem like ancient history? Well, to us maybe, but not to AOL. The company continues to generate big profits from the dial up business. The company still has 2.3 million users using dial up, and they are paying $20.86 per month! I wonder what the hip chat rooms are these days? A/S/L? Read More

A Real Big Bang This should provide some nice padding to these actors' pockets. Fans of the Big Bang Theory will be happy to know that the show is contracted for another three seasons. The actors are also very happy. After renegotiating the contracts, the lead actors are now reaping salaries not seen since the days of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross. Reports have some salaries around $1 million per episode… and they have 24 episodes a season! Nerdy just became really cool! Read More

Atlanta takes the crown... of shame A few extra beers may be on tap for the Atlanta faithful this weekend, and not for a good reason. After missing the top spot last year by the skin of our teeth, Atlanta has officially been ranked the worst sports city in America by Forbes. They call the Braves perennial bridesmaids! Well, I just cut costs in my budget since I cancelled my Forbes subscription! Read More

Time To Join The Amazon Some may say it's too late, but Jeff Bezos could care less… Amazon has released a phone. Sports Fans Lose A Legend Hall Fame baseball player, Tony Gwynn, died this week at the age of 54. Stats definitely don't do this man justice as he has been labeled one of the nicest guys around, but the fact that he only had 1 three-strikeout game ever in 19 seasons (10,232 at bats) blows our mind especially as we watch BJ Upton have those routinely! Check out these other mind blowing stats on Tony Gwynn. Read More
