It costs a “Latte” The temperature has dropped, and the desire for our favorite latte is ratcheting up. What's wonderful is that we now have so many to choose from! Maybe you'll sip on a Peppermint Latte from Au Bon Pain, or the Sugar Cookie Latte from Dunkin’ Donuts, or maybe you go for the new kid on the block… the Chestnut Praline Latte from Starbucks. It’s the company’s first new holiday drink in five years. Here’s a toast to roasting chestnuts! Read More

Making $700,000 a DAY!?!? This may sound silly, but it's as real as the ground beneath your feet. Whether you love her or hate her, you probably talked about her this week… yeah we are talking about Kim Kardashian. We aren't picking sides here. What's more jaw-dropping than her magazine covers, though, is that she is receiving $700,000 per day from her revenue sharing deal on her app “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.” Who knew that people would actually spend $43.3 million trying to become a virtual Kim Kardashian!?! I sure as hell didn’t. I guess that's why I'm not making $700,000 a day... Black Friday fanatics Two California women have already lined up for Black Friday deals at Best Buy. They actually lined up 22 days (yes 22 DAYS) before Black Friday. Everyone is familiar with the long lines that begin 24 and 48 hours before the #1 bargain day of the year, but this beats all. They cite a TV deal as the reason for getting there so early… Okay, let’s do a little math: 22 days includes 15 work days (assuming they’re off for Turkey Day) which is 600 working hours. At California’s minimum wage of $9 an hour that equals $5,400 they’re forgoing. Hope it’s an incredible deal for an incredible TV!! Read More

Turning Shrek into Mr. Potato Head We are on the cusp of seeing just that. Yes, Dreamworks Animation, the creators of the Shrek movie franchise, is in talks to merge with Hasbro, the brand that created Mr. Potato Head. It’s more as an opportunity for both companies to diversify, but for us it seems like an endless possibility of toys and movies. Maybe a Monopoly movie or even one with Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. The Wela office is voting for a Tonka truck version of Cars (not a Dreamworks movie)! Read More

Microsoft’s 19 year-old secret That’s a long time, but it’s easier when nobody knows about it. Just recently IBM found a bug within Microsoft’s Windows and Office products going back to Windows 95! The bug let people remotely control your computer. Think about if someone had seen their computer being controlled remotely back in the 90s… they barely knew about computers, and then it was working on its own… definitely aliens! Read More
